Container Loading Estimator: what the result means
Estimate a planning range for how many identical cartons may fit in a 20GP, 40GP, or 40HQ container. The tool compares carton volume with usable container space, but a loading decision must also consider carton orientation, door clearance, weight distribution, stacking strength, and unusable gaps.
A realistic way to use it
If one packed carton measures 60 x 40 x 35 cm, its volume is 0.084 CBM. Dividing a planning allowance of 58 CBM for a 40HQ by 0.084 suggests about 690 cartons before orientation and operational losses. A real loading plan may be lower after checking layer patterns, door opening, and weight limits.
Checks that prevent a bad result
Do not divide nominal container volume by carton CBM and treat the result as guaranteed capacity. Avoid ignoring internal dimensions, carton rotation, pallet volume, fragile stacking limits, axle weight, moisture protection, and mixed carton sizes.
When this tool is not enough
A commercial load plan may require container internal dimensions from the carrier, carton-level gross weights, pallet layouts, loading software, warehouse trial loading, and a forwarder or surveyor review.
