Your result and counting rules
Enter your dates and calculate. The current rule will appear with the result.
Choose elapsed days or an inclusive date count
Use elapsed days when you want the distance between two dates. Use the boundary checkboxes when counting dates in a reporting period, an event schedule or a personal timeline. The result shows both the selected date count and the signed elapsed difference, so you can distinguish them.
Worked example
From 2024-02-28 to 2024-03-01, excluding the start and including the end, the result is 2 days: February 29 and March 1. Include both dates to count 3 days.
Boundaries and limitations
Calendar days include every weekday. The calculator does not measure hours or calendar months. A reversed range produces a negative count and applies the checkboxes to the dates exactly as entered. For the same date, the selected count is 1 only if both boundaries are included; otherwise it is 0.
Dates use Gregorian calendar rules and a date-only day index, not local midnight timestamps. Daylight-saving changes cannot add or remove a calendar day.
